I think so. There is absolutely zero point for Norman to comment on it on more than just a few occasions especially when Daryl was written FOR him and he's been working very closely with the writers.

There are actually a lot of different characters compared to the comic. Like T-dog, he's not in the comic. There are also a lot of people that aren't in the show that are in the comic and have huge roles in the comic. Some people that aren't in the show anymore that are in the comic still to a certain point. Sure, Norman has a bigger part then T-dog, but he's not that special because he's not the only one who got a completely new part. Don't get me wrong though, I still like Norman and his character.
